survival fire starter

Emergency kits are essential tools that campers shouldn’t be without. One very important part of any emergency kit is a survival fire starter. In fact, camping experts recommend having at least two fire starters at all times especially when going into unfamiliar territory. Keep in mind that the larger the fire starter surface to scrape, the more sparks you’ll get and the easier you’ll get a fire going.

Aside from having a good fire starter, it’s also important to have some good tinder. One good project for outdoor enthusiasts is making your own tinder. One easy way is to soak a loosely rolled cotton ball with some Vaseline. This one will quickly catch fire and burn for quite a long time.
