stun batons

I’m not entirely in favor of police officers hurting protesters in public demonstrations. It pains me to see them get hit by pepper spray, teargas, stun batons and especially by stun guns. It is disturbing to see footages of violent protests on TV news. There was a time in 2007 when a protest over housing project in New Orleans turned ugly. As an American I was aghast to see the footage at that time.

I sincerely hope the police officers will not abuse their authority during protests. Controlling protesters may be challenging. However, I believe in the use of peaceful and more humane ways in restoring order during protests. I mean this is America and we are should be mighty proud of our democracy. We of all nations should be an epitome of equality and decency.
