This is a sound security measure that you can use to protect your property. For night surveillance, night vision cameras combine a black and white camera with infrared illuminators.
Even if you see colored images during the day, a night vision camera will switch to black and white when used with infrared LEDs at night. This is because the latter produce better images than color cameras in low light levels. A built-in light sensor is incorporated in the camera to determine when the light has changed so it can operate better when darkness comes.
