Sierra Lakes

When I was in 6th grade, I went on a weekend skiing outing with three of my best friends. The area was called Sierra Lakes and it was about 2 and a half hours drive from where we lived in the city. Going there was a scenic ride, what with the huge, towering trees lining the roads heading to the lake. It was a very different view from the buildings we were used to seeing.

It was very exciting when we got there. We put on our life jackets and got ready for our first taste of skiing. Alas! I failed at it miserably! I could not even stand up! I tried this contraption wherein you just had to kneel down, sit on your heels, and stretch out your arms while holding firmly to the rope which were attached to the speedboat. I was only able to go a few meters. I was pretty scared of the lake. But it was so much fun and an adventure I will never forget.
