Biometrics is a unique way of recognizing humans based on one or more physical or behavioral attribute. Examples of physiological biometrics are fingerprint, face recognition and iris recognition. Behavioral biometrics on the other hand includes gait and voice. Biometrics has practical application in access control. It is also used to identify individuals who are under surveillance.

Fingerprint car alarms use biometric technology in determining identity. It is a secure and convenient way of securing access to the car. It determines identity based on the fingerprint. There is no need for a key or password. Unauthorized persons who gain entry to the vehicle illegally will set off the quick alarming function.
