There are different kinds of safes and we have to choose the kind that will be right for our purpose. Questions we have to ask ourselves are – what items do we want to protect and from what? By answering these questions, we will know important features of the home safe that we are looking for. You can say, for example that you need a small fireproof safe to keep my important documents and jewelry safe.

Fire safes are made to protect documents, jewelry and cash. They are made of a metal box filled with a specialized mix that retains cells of moisture. When exposed to heat these cells change to steam which is released to the interior of the box. They lower the temperature while providing a pressure seal for the small openings around the door. This keeps heat and flame out.
