Ruger SP101

A lot of small frame revolvers on the market, whether they hold five or six shots, are built on a design that is over a hundred years old. When magnum cartridges came about, the old designs were just made bigger to handle the extra intensity of firing the magnums. The Ruger SP101 is a double action revolver built without a removable side plate. This adds needed strength to the frame area around the cylinder without adding bulk to the revolver. The result is a small revolver that can handle a steady diet of full power 357 Magnum ammo.

The SP101 is basically the strongest small frame .357 Magnum available in the market today. It weighs 25 ounces and for the added weight, you get a gun that is stronger, easy to shoot well, has much less felt recoil and will last for many years despite the hard use.
