With the threat of more disasters to come as brought about by climate change, families are well-advised to make concrete plans for surviving future calamities. At a minimum, you need to have basic disaster supplies in an easy-to-carry emergency preparedness kit. This ensures you can use it at home or take it with you in case you have to evacuate.
Gather the family to practice and discuss survival techniques:
~Talk about how you should prepare and respond to emergencies that are most likely to happen at home, in school or at the office.
~Identify each family member’s responsibilities when disaster strikes and plan to work together as a team
~Choose specific places to meet and have a common contact person out of the emergency area to coordinate with.
