emergency food supplies

If a sudden storm, earthquake, hurricane or other calamity strikes the area where you live, chances are, you might not have immediate access to food, water and electricity for a number of days or even weeks. Take time now to store emergency food supplies you need to provide for your entire family to increase your chances of survival.

Store water in thoroughly washed plastic, glass, fiberglass or enamel-lined metal containers. Avoid storing foods high in fat and protein and don’t stock salty foods as these will make you thirsty. Instead, store salt-free crackers, whole grain cereals and canned foods with high liquid content. Canned foods are convenient because they don’t require cooking, water or special preparations.
