As summer closes, the change in weather can bring about natural disasters which can be very destructive. Storms and tornadoes can carry enough force to topple and destroy anything their its paths. As such everyone should have an emergency kit ready and available for the family to use when time comes.
Disaster preparedness groups recommend that emergency kits be prepared well in advance and have them in standby. The kits should also have a designated location known by the entire family so it can be easily found in case an evacuation is needed. While having supplies that can last for three days is recommended, it is also highly recommended that families prepare a kit that can last them until two weeks.
