A TSO (Technical Standard Order) is a minimum performance standard for specified materials, parts, and appliances used on civil aircraft. When authorized to manufacture a material, part, or appliances to a TSO standard, this is referred to as TSO authorization. Receiving a TSO authorization is both design and production approval. Receiving a TSO authorization is not an approval to install and use the article in the aircraft. It means that the article meets the specific TSO and the applicant is authorized to manufacture it
The Ameri-King AK-451 is an emergency locator transmitter that is FAA TSO approved and EASA ETSO approved. It transmits aircraft position data, immediately and accurately, on triple MHz frequencies. Having triple frequencies insure that the distress message reaches both NOAA Satellite Operation and US Air Force AFSR Ground Operation, Search and Rescue Team, with 100% confidence. By transmitting on both 243.0 MHz Military and 121.5 MHz Civilian bands immediate ground search is activated thus narrowing the searching time to almost nothing.
